In today’s episode of the alpha marketing podcast, and today, we are going to discuss the number one content marketing strategy.

A big mistake that I see people doing when it comes to content marketing is that they keep making their content in the niche which they are an expert in, forgetting about the demands of their customers.

Let’s take an example of a Yoga Trainer who’s posting all about various Asanas and how to do them everytime.

Of course it is a great thing to do, but it is not going to help you in your content marketing.

Let’s suppose if I’m an entrepreneur who sits in front of laptop for more than 10 hours straight and because of that, I have started seeing some bad symptoms in my body which are not going in the right direction.

May this problem is in the spine or something, but I need a solution for this.

Let’s say, the solution to that particular difficulty is “Asana A”.

Instead of posting the problem that is being resolved with the “Asana A”, you are posting content of how to do that Asana.

But your potential customer does not understand that which Asana will help him get relief from the pain he is facing.

So the content that you need to be making is after thinking from the customer’s point of view that what that person is going to be searching on google.

He must be searching something like “I’m suffering from XYZ problem and what is the recommended solution for me”.

So you need to keep their perspective in mind and think what they would be searching on Google and you have to frame your content according to their perspective and not from your perspective.

For example, a diabetic patient might be searching something like “the number 1 treatment for diabetic patient”.

You’re going to tell them the broad information in your videos and give them the specific solutions to their problem.

So first, the headline or keyword of your video/written content should be related to the problem that they are facing, and then the solution has to be the product/service that you have to offer.

When you are posting content like “3 Best Postures To Do X Asana In The Best Way”, even if you are performing the best in the content, but your prospects would never know how it will help them.

Similarly, let’s suppose, if we talk about digital marketing. If you’re putting content like adding Google Analytics or Google Search Console on your website. It is your knowledge, but does your prospect know about all these things?

The answer is No.

Show them what they want to see.

For example, if I’m targeting restaurants then I’ll be posting something like, “Top 5 Digital Marketing Hacks That a Restaurant Must Be Using” or “Top 5 Digital Marketing Activities That Will Help In Increasing The Revenue Of Any Restaurant” or “Top 5 Digital Marketing Mistakes that every Restaurant/Salon/Dentist is Doing”.

Basically, when you go very niche specific and talk to them in their language, you get the results. They don’t care about how to add pixels or analytics. They care about how they can increase their business.

When you make them read your content with your headline whether it’s a video or a blog post, then you can tell them about analytics, pixels, google my business listing, etc.

You have to come out of the specifics of the expertise, and you have to go towards the pain points, desires, troubles, and need of your customers and make content revolving around that.

So this should be the context of your content. Your expertise is still the same, but the context has changed.

And this is something that is going to give you the reach that you want and that would be your number one content marketing strategy
