How to Make Your Subscribers “Click”
Hey Welcome to another episode of the alpha marketing podcast and in this podcast, we’ll talk about another email marketing hack using which you can increase the number of clicks.
In the last few articles, we talked about how we can increase the open rate. So we are at a level now where the open rates (anywhere I’ll be sharing more hacks for this as well so stay tuned.
But in this article, we’re going to talk about is clicks.
One thing that I’ve tested and has worked really well for me is that the text that is hyperlinked (which redirects people to your landing pages). For example, this text can be:
“Click here to see the demo”
“Check out the product here”
Or whatever the call-to-action line is, can be made similar to the subject line of your email.
This can be used for some of your emails or the majority of the emails (not in all of them) because of the kind of email content which may differ.
So, put simply, the email subject line should be your call to action text in some of your emails.
After doing split testing on this I have seen that when your call to action text is exactly the same as your subject line, your link clicks will be higher.
The reason for that is pretty simple. The number 1 thing that motivated your readers to open that email is the subject line.
Now, if the subject line has triggered them to open the email once, then the same subject line or combination of words used in the subject line can again trigger them to click on the particular link.
I remember doing a split test where both emails had similar subject lines but the call to action text was different. In one email, the call to action was some normal text but in the second email, we kept the call to action text similar to the subject line.
I got more clicks on the second email.
When you think from a psychological perspective, it’s pretty simple. If the same combination of words can trigger the users once, they can trigger them again.
So this one thing can give you more clicks and can ultimately generate more revenue for you.
