How to Get Results for Local Businesses??
What’s the number one tip that I would give to a local business or someone who’s working with a local business?
I would say… It would be to work extensively on their GMB (Google My Business Listings) optimization.
When you work really hard on the GMB optimization, their GMB rankings would improve and it would give them the biggest boost in their revenue than anything else in the world.
So, GMB ranking is ultimately going to help them to get on Google Maps.
When you simply search for Google My business on Google, you would need to add your business in GMB and it’s going to list your business and start showing your business on google maps. That’s the number one part.
And if your business is very well optimized, for example, you have put some very good images, good descriptions, working hours, and the superb part — reviews, these can help you to grow over there.
You can also put reviews inside GMB and this is where you can really go advanced.
Honestly, if I had been traveling to any part of the world, the number one thing which I search for is Google Maps. I would do a google search on:
What are the restaurants near me?
What are the salons near me?
What are the XYZ places near me?
So these are the kind of places that I keep searching and based on that I make my decisions whether to go there or not.
That’s number one.
That’s how I find places.
Number two is:
I look at the review of those places. If the reviews are good, I definitely prefer to go over there.
I’m willing to go for a dine out or whatever it is
So you are going to generate a lot of business when having very optimized GMB ratings and some very good ratings over there.
And I would say, Go very aggressive when it comes to getting reviews.
I believe that every business would know at least 50 to 100 people on a personal level whether it’s your friend circle, family, etc.
This is where you can get the minimum number of reviews on your business.
So before even reaching out to your customers, you can get these bare minimum number of reviews.
Thus, even if you are making your account for the very first time, make sure you get the reviews over there.
Remember that it should look natural to google i.e, you should refrain from bombarding your GMB with reviews at once. Start with one or two reviews today, 2 reviews after two days, another set of two reviews after one more day, and so on.
It should happen within a period of time….
Add as many reviews as you can, make sure that you take your reviews to over 100, 200, 500, or even 1000+ reviews. Be very aggressive over there.
In the beginning, when you don’t have too many reviews, you can also incentivize your customer to give you a review. (they should be having some incentive to for giving you a review)
You can ask your customers “Hey! If you can give me a review right now, I’ll give you a 10% discount”
A lot of customers are going to go for this option.
For you, the most important thing is to get those reviews because when you get reviews, you are going to get a lot of organic reach and even Google is going to notice that this business is getting a lot of reviews and that too on the consistent basis.
Now, when people will search for such kind of business, Google will start promoting your business from its end.
Alright, so this is the biggest thing that I am going to recommend to any local business or anyone working with the local businesses that you should focus very heavily on their GMB listings.
